OBD2-OBD1 changeover in 96 DX hatch questions
Hey all have some questions about changin over my 96 DX hatch over to obd1. Specifically i want to put an obd1 engine and ECU into the car, what all will i need and how hard will it be. I don't have many power options, I have manual windows, manualy mirrors, manual steering rack ( no PS ), no sunroof, no cruise. Prettymuch the only option i have is A/C which will get tossed when i do the swap....i'm thinkin LS/VTEC as my engine and i'm still thinkin about tranny but that can't be a last thing it doesn't matter....i heard it can be done if i could get the body harnesses to match up but since i don't have maybe options it shouldn't matter should it. Any info is welcomed.

You dont need to rewire the whole car, damn. Get a OBDII-I conversion harness(for the ecu) from Kenji for $225 shipped and get a engine wiring harness for whatever motor you get.

Actually, I have recently lowered my pricing on my ECU conversion harnesses.
2000_Civic_Si,
Your best bet would be to get a '96-'98 EX engine harness and lace it on to the LS/VTEC swap you are talking about. Then, run one of my OBD2 to OBD1 ECU conversion harnesses and plug in an OBD1 ECU. Simple plug and play.
If you have any more questions feel free to ask.
Good luck.

btw - thanks for the plug Eric
