obd2 harness in obd1 car
I currently have a d16y8 and the complete obd2 engine harness. I was wondering if it is at all possible to swap the entire harness into my eg.
I remember hearing something about one of them being one piece, and one being 2, but if i anyone could help me out thatd be great. Thanks guys
PS: The reason i want to do this is i don't have any obd1 engine harness, nor do i have an obd1 distributor

Yes it's doable, and you'll still need the conversion harness to connect to the obd1 P28.

Re: obd2 harness in obd1 car (ebp_dc2)
hey man, ur on nyspeed. u can use that harness. im having the same prediciment. Apparently the harness that you have will plug right into the strut tower plugs on the obdI harness. From what i am told, you may or may not get a check engine light. You will however have and extra plug thats not plugged in but that does not matter. I am doing the same swap and what i am doing is buying a d16z6 harness and plugging it into the y8 motor. im pretty sure that either way will work out just fine.

Um, the obd2 harness is a one piece that runs from the engine inside the car and plugs directly into the ecu.Your car has a chassis harness and an engine harness. The obd2 harness will not plug into your harness. You will need to get an obd1 harness and make modifications or change things on the motor to make it work.
The only obd2 harness that will plug into the harness in an obd1 civic is a gsr harness. The integra has a 2 piece harness and has the same shock tower plugs as the civic and will directly plug in.
