ive searched, but found no definate answer.

Can i do the paperclip hack to retrieve the codes?
some threads say yes and some say no,

Car: 99 civic SI OBD2B.

bit of background....... just installed a XD 16 Innovate gauge with LC1 - O2 sensor, since then the CEL keeps popping up. - WB o2 sensor is not connected to the CAT yet, using the yellow wires for now and using the NB o2 sensor.

We dont have a Autozone or the like over here, we have to pay the equivelant of 120$ to get it scanned

You searched but couldn't find anything?

Look at the first couple threads. There is a sticky tread that tells you how to get the codes and what they are.

no autozone or schucks? 120 just for ascan? WOW.. I would rather travel to the nearest schucks or autozone.... and no you cant do the paperclip trick

3) Locate the jumper plug (Civic 92-95 is grey, 96-00 its blue). Its a 2 pin plug.

i did find that thread, that was one of those 'no you cant' threads, it says you need to take it to autozone at the bottom,

i think no is the answer, just checking.

the answer is yes. its there, you just gotta dig it out. on number 3 it says to look for the plug, i guess obd2 cars has the jumper and the scanner plug.

I've pulled codes useing the blue connector located behind the passengers side kick panel on my 00 em1. Count the blinks (long and fast) and look the cel up. It's not to hard. The conector is there. I used a wire that was stripped on both ends. I actually keep it in the glove box with a list of codes.

Here's what the thread stats at the end of the post:
"Now, if you take your OBD2 car (with cel) to a place that has a scanning tool (IE - AutoZone) the #'s will be different -&gt; 5 digit codes.
If you go that route, the #'s are available here:

Where do you read that you have to take it to Autozone? It says if you DO take it to get scanned, the numbers will be different, so look those code numbers up.
