Default obd2 b series distributor problem

got the car running. has a slight misfire at idle. replaced cap rotor plugs wires. The only problem now is that when i hook up a timing light up to each wire, 3 isnt flashing consistently. has the same problem with the old wires, rotors, cap, etc.

Would a coil cause a slight miss?

It sounds as though the timing is off. Perhaps the timing belt skipped. Have you done any maintenance lately? What led to this problem? Do you know how to do a leak down test or reset the timing to TDC and check to make sure things haven't skipped?

timing is at tdc. checked 2 times. replaced cap and rotor today. wires and plugs yesterday. would a coil cause a slight miss at idle?

EDIT: timing was the reason it wouldnt run. now i cant get rid of this idle misfire
