obd1 p72 chip question

Default obd1 p72 chip question

i just bought a gsr swap, the ecu has a data logging cable hanging out. So i was like sweet lets open her up and see whats inside. i open the ecu and the ecu has been socket and no chip... correct me if im wrong but should the car should not even run with out this? or just does it just remain stock map im confused help me??

Before you run that PCM, confirm that it was chipped correctly. If I remember, you need to add resistors and other devices so that the PCM has access to that map, because it wasn't there from the factory, its not gonna read a socket that doesn't have anything in it.
