obd1, obd2... obdconfused
(posted in hybrid forum also)
Stay with me please, because im having a hard time with this. I own a 93 ex(obd1) I plan on putting in a 98 b18b(obd2). The guy said that he had a integra harness I could use and an obd1 ecu. He Also said that I could use my own harness. So im asking, how the hell is this all compatible? He says hes used his 93 civic harness+98 b18b+obd1 ecu... I thought all of this doesnt work. Doesnt the obd2 require more sensors? Dont the fuel injectors require something else aslo? Thanks.

Re: obd1, obd2... obdconfused (PUSHER)
what you can do is run all obd2 wiring harnesses to the motor and thru the firewall into the interior of your car. then simply buy an obd2-obd1 conversion harness to plug in the obd1 ecu. basically its a short little wiring harness that puts all the wires in the right place to run the obd1 ecu on the obd2 engine. All the obd2-only sensors will still be there, they just wont do anything...such as your secondary 02 sensor.

you wont need a jumper harness for the ecu if you already have an obd1 car. basically what he said is correct about keeping everything in the engine bay obd2( just put the engine swap and harness in as it was in the 98 intregra) the harness will plug into your strut tower location.
since you do not have vtec and neither does the b18b, you will not need to re-wire anything...AT LEAST I THINK.
then since you already have an obd1 ecu stock in your hatch just get a rechipped obd1 p28(92-95 si/ex ecu), it will plug in with no modification and you are good to go...
i might be mistaken about the main engine harness plugging into your stock location with no modification. mine will be slighhtly different b/c i'm putting a vtec engine into an already vtec equipted ex, but i dont see how your non-vtec application would be any different.
