Default OBD1--->OBD2 Harness?

I'm putting a B18C1 OBD2 engine, tranny, etc, the whole works, into my EK. But, in order to compensate for mods more efficiently, I want to get an OBD2--->OBD1 conversion harness. First of all, if what I eventually want to do is I/H/E/ and Direct port nitrous system, is it worth is to get an OBD 1 ecu and harness? Will the difference be worth it? The engine I got has a P72 ECU now (from an OBD 2 94-97 GSR). What ECU and Harness do I need to do the conversion (it's plug and play, right?) and is it worth it?

Why would you need an obd2 to obd1 conversion harness if your not dropping a obd2 motor into a obd1 car?

I heard that running an OBD 1 ECU will allow the engine to better compensate for upgrades. Anyone know what I am trying to say?

Ya my friend did a b20 drop in his obd2 civic, and he did an obd2 to obd1 conversion cause it was easier to chip/tune with obd1 than obd2 even though neither the engine or the car was originally obd1.

Boomslang makes the best jumper's from what I have heard. Honestly you should be able to find one just about anywhere though.

I keep hearing the same thing with my SOHC VTEC Civic with a OBD2, and that converting to a OBD1 the car will respond more to the things like my CAI/H/E. Sorry forjumping on the thread but I have the same questions

Common sense tells me that you should use a ECU from a OBD-1 B18C1, also P72. Unless you plan to chip the ecu or tune the A/F ratio with a piggyback ecu, I don't see how OBD-1 has an advantage over OBD-2. Rywire.com sells ECU jumper harnesses.

What year car do you have? If it's a 96-98 you will need a OBD2-A to OBD1 ecu harness. If it's 99-00 you will need a OBD2-B to OBD1. In case you didn't know.
plugging an obd1 ecu will not give you a horspower gain. You will need to get the ecu chipped. one of the most common ones to do is the p28 ecu from a 92-95 civic
sohc vtec. This ecu plugged in to your motor would be **** cause the map on it is for sohc. You could get the obd1 gsr ecu but why? you will still need to chip it.

This is what I think,.....You have an OBD2 B18C1 motor/ECU right now, so if you want to convert to OBD1 you should go with the P72 ECU from the OBD1 Integras. The reasoning for this is that the B18C1 has a thing called "Dual Butterflies" which requires the the use of the P72 ECU's to control this feature. The reason people go OBD1 is because they are alot easier to program, whether you are chipping it or using a piggyback system. OBD2 looks for more sensors and the OBD2 ECU is just overall harder to program. Go with the OBD1 P72 ECU and conversion harness (like they said "you can get it anywhere", just search) Good luck.

Yeah if your not gonna "Tune" it then why bother converting.
