obd1 and obd2 fan switches swapable?
after my 2nd run at the track, my fan wouldnt come on. checked the fuse, and hooked up a wire from the battery to the plug and it came on. so im guessing its the switch.
will a switch (sensor at the thermo) from a 94 cx head work on my d16y7? are the plugs the same? thanks

the fan switch is the brown switch that threads into the thermostat correct? like a 15/16" head? i took one out of my old d16z6 block, so im going to see if the plug matches for the d16y7. hope so. thanks.. wait, nobody has helped yet.. no thanks

Re: obd1 and obd2 fan switches swapable? (SOHC b00st)
ok, well the part i was talking about, brown plug with the 15/16 bolt end, screws into the side of the thermostat. guessing it is the fan switch. they are switchable from obd-1 to obd-2. just switched mine from the old d16z6 block into my 96 d16y7 block. now to see if it was the problem for the fan not coming on.

Re: obd1 and obd2 fan switches swapable? (ARIZONA)
ok. well i put the new switch in. fan finally came on when the temp gauge started to move just past 1/3 of the way on my ex cluster. but then after about 5 minutes of the fan running, it had worked its way just past half.. so i turned it off.. im guessing i have an air bubble in the thermostat now from changing the fan switch. i guess ill try to fix that tomorrow and see if it works.
