Is it possible to convert obd1 to obd2 in my eg, I've searched the net and the FAQs and only found how to do the opposite....

sure just replace the dash harness/engine harness it's really not as hard as ppl make it out to be I had to replace my whole harness in my integra due to it being a hack job. total time in 6 hours

I don't mind doing wiring stuff, its not difficult usually, but wut kind of harness would I be swapping with, is there a conversion harness or would I need to pull one from an ek

Edit:thought you wanted the whole thing obd2 forget the dash harness and just grab a EJ6 engine bay harness.

Anything is possible, you just need to research the wiring, cross reference where everything needs to go. There are reasons why alot of us don't do it and would rather stick obd1

What do you mean by whole thing? Basically, what I want to be able to do is hook up a programmer to control economy, power ect and be able to read/reset engine codes, I have one on my truck and love it, would like to be able to do that on my eg

Lol, I guess I should've said that in the first place, from what I just read about the hondata s300, it sounds about what I'm looking for, except, there's no on board monitor unless you keep a laptop in the car, or is there an onboard monitor you can get for it, honestly, some of that stuff scares me that it was talking about lol, afraid I'll screw something up, that's why I was looking for a preprogrammed selectable type unit

No you'd need a laptop in the car with you if you wanted to see what's going on it's easy to use tho, I was iffy about playing with things when I got mine but you learn it fast.

Does it have preprogrammed settings for economy and power, I know u can fine tune, but I'd like to have something to already set up, can u look at and reset engine codes, view avg mpg and other diagnostic stuff, I figure I can get over the onboard monitor if it meets those needs, not like I'll be monitoring constantly while driving lol, it'd be cool if they'd find a way to integrate it into your phone or tablet

So.......you want to run obd2, but you want to use something like s300....None of this makes any sense.

He explained why he wanted to seeing as the scan tools that hook up to an obd2 car will show all of what he wants. And no op there are no pre-programed maps if you want economy then get a d15b non vtec. This is a tuning software

Its not so much that I want more economy, its my daily driver/project car, so I'd like to be able to switch between power and economy with relative ease since my commute is over 60 miles daily

Seems the s300 might not be for me since I don't know anything about tuning cars like that, so I guess I'm back to changing to obd2

Do you think that ej6 harness would allow me to accomplish my goal?

I suggest you stick to obd2a, get the firewall harness and the passenger side shock tower harness. Get an obd2a engine harness. Collect all emissions, evap canistors. I think there is a sensor in the fuel tank that is needed as well. You'll probably find that out when you have everything hooked up.

You'll have to collect all of this from an 96-98 integra. Reason why you should do it this way is to make sure everything is consistent across the the board. If you're gonna go junkyard hopping make sure that integra is complete with all wiring. Take your time pulling things out and label all, and I mean label it or you'll end up not knowing where it went.

Cool, thanks, by firewall harness, do you mean the one going thru the firewall connected to fuse box under the hood, I'm not familiar with shock tower harness, and what all would be included with emissions and canisters, sorry if I'm asking a lot of questions, I just want to do it right

There is a thick wire harness that runs ALONG the firewall BEHIND the dash. PULL your carpet OUT, LAY your *** on the floor and LOOK BEHIND the dash and you'll see a thick wiring harness. You'll also need to confirm that the obd2 port runs along that harness before pulling.

Good luck bro. You realize you'll have to wire in all the additional emissions components as well (CKF, EVAP system which means even possibly swapping gas tanks, secondary 02 post cat). The engine harness won't just plug and play as the OBD2 Civics used one piece engine harnesses and OBD1 use two piece. So you'll have to either wire it all up or swap the dash harness as well (not sure all that will be plug and play). Also I don't believe anyone makes a power programmer for civics due to the way the Honda ecu was designed.

He has an eg , theoritically if he gets the wiring from an obd2a integra he should be fine. eg and dc2 share somewhat of the same chassis. All he would need to do is drill the hole for the second o2.

No he would need all the EVAP equipment from the associated ECU, that includes charcoal canister, evap purge solenoids, and associated sensor equipment for the fuel tank pressure sensor as well.
