obd1 engine harness into a obd2 chassis???
Hey guys, i have a obd1 gsr motor completed with a d16z6 engine harness and i was told by a shop that i could just swapped the obd1 gsr motor with the d16z6 engine harness right into my 0bd2a chassis (97 ek) with no problem if i use a obd2a to obd1 ecu jumping harness and i was wondering if this is true? If this is not true what do i need to do to in order to complete my obd1 gsr motor into my 97 ek? I tired searching but i couldn't get a direct answer so any information would be appreciated

Would this be vice versa which allow you to use the obd1 engine harness with obd2a chassis (underdash harness to the ecu) with an ecu jumping harness?

I did an OBD1 B16 in a 97 cx and I had to cut a splice together a harness that would actually work.
Don't bother asking on here for help with this because everyone is all about doing obd2 to obd1 but none of them have tried it. So they encourage it and then offer no help when the time comes to actually swap it.
EDIT: You are in california? You can't put that motor in your car.

Stop creating more threads and bumping 2 year old posts. I told you, you need to do alot of cutting and splicing to get it to work. I switched over almost every harness on the engine.

If i were you i wouldnt go back to that shop as they are misinforming you.
It wont work due to the 96-00 civic harness is a 1 piece design that goes straight to ecu. The obd1 engine harness is a 2 piece design which plugs in at the shock tower and a different harness goes to the ecu.
You can only use 96-98 harness depending on what ecu you are planning to use. If you need more help just pm me
