Default OBD Question( DEL SOL )

I have found an engine with around 50K miles from a 1996 Del Sol but I was under the impression that all 1996+ cars were obd2. I have a 1992 DX Hatchback that is of course obd1. The engine that i found is a D15B7 which I also thought were obd1. I am trying to figure out if a 1996 car could possibly be obd1 because this engine is a killer deal.

Can anybody help clarify this?

as i remember del sol vtec is still obd1 and it will be driect drop in for your eg.but u can not use del sol shift linkage cuase it is too short.u will need new mounts..shift linkage and rear t bracket and intermediate shaft from a 94 and up integra but again. it depends on how complete del sol vtec engine is. it might comes with intermediate shaft or something .

wait wait wait

I think I'm wrong actually. Pretty sure D15B7s were only 92-95 and in 96 the Civics/Del Sols got the D16Y7

that's what i thought too... but i was asking because this guy said it came from a 1996 del sol but it was a D15b7 B7s were supposed to be all obd0 or 1 i think some JDM CRX or something had a 0 B7 but the D15y7 was in 1996+ USDM cars...

i have seen 1996 model cars that are still obd1. mainly toyota but has anybody heard if this happened with honda as well? It seems they just built a few 1996 cars in late 1995 using some obd1 parts...
