OBD ECU HELP!!
I have a 2000 civic si and i recently did a motor swap to a B18C JDM 95 GSR motor, the shop i took it to swapped all the sensors over but still using my si computer (8000rpm redline 5500 vtec kick in) and it is also throwing an engine code which has been confirmed is the O2 sensor but theres a brand new O2 in the car. we plugged my friends 99 ex computer in there and it didnt throw the code. my question is, which is the exact correct OBD i need and how much power am i losing due to this thrown code and not having the correct ECU!?

Re: (allmotorEG6civic)
yes i had a dc sports 4-2-1 header but they said it wouldnt fit on the gsr motor cuz it was too short or something. now i have a cheap aftermarket header on there and they said something about that making the o2 code go off but i didnt understand how that could be

Re: (VTECPowerdSi)
I would suggest going obd1 if aat all possible with a chipped P28 with an ITR program or a p72 ecu. Also how long does it take for the code to come up when you run it with the Si computer??? If you reset the computer and then start the car does the light come on right away?? More info would be awesome.

Re: (jDmDxTuRd)
after the si ecu is reset the light takes about anywhere between 7-10 minutes then after that it just stays on until the ecu is reset. I dont think i can go OBD1 because all my sensors have been swapped over to this new motor

Re: (VTECPowerdSi)
You can go obd1 no matter what sensors have been changed trust me. This is something thats kinda hard to fix over the internet but i would take it to a friend who knew alot about hondas and check all the wiring for the 2 o2 sensors. All you would have to do to go obd1 is buy a jumper harness, which are on special right now at http://www.jdmhondaparts.com/frameset.htm for 110. bucks and then an obd1 ecu. Plug it all up and youre ready to go. Would take like 10 minutes to do.
