Default OBD conversion question

I've got a couple quick questions. Alright i've got a 97 Del sol which is OBD2a right?

Now i'm throwing in an OBD1 B16a3. What engine harness do I use? I'm going to running a HONDATA S300 so i'm not worried about all of the OBD2 sensors and what not.. But I was thinking about finding an OBD2 GSR harness.

But what years GSR harness is OBD2a instead of B or does it matter? If it does, 96-99 integras are OBD2a right?

yes it is obdII
use a p30 obdII
if you want obdI, use a p28 chipped or obdI p30
dont use a gsr harness. you can use the harness on your car
yes, 96+ is obdII

Thanks for the response but i'm using my P28 w/ a hondata s300 setup... I want a GSR or some other DOHC VTEC wire harness so I don't have to mess w/ my current harness... I want it to be as simple as possible w/o any cutting... And is the OBD2A and OBD2B harness the same?

bump, I have the same question!

Edit: okay to make it easier here is my situation:

I have a 97 DX, I'm putting in a 1995 B18C1. Blown90Hatch OBD2a-OBD1 Conversion Harness with Hondata S200 P28.

What engine harness do I use?

What distributor should I buy? (I don't have one)

What about the Crank Position Sensor? I'm buying a new oil pump, what year should I buy?

Injector wires? Ideally I'd like to run RC Saturated Injectors, if it's easier I'll run the Peak and Hold injectors.

I know I need to run VTEC wires if I'm using my DX harness (I searched, some people say that I should use my DX harness, others don't. I need a clear answer!)

Thanks!

If your using an obd1 engine and ecu, just get an obd1 b-series engine harness. It will plug directly on the motor and plug into your cars obd2 main harness.
Then you need the obd2-obd1 jumper harness so you can plug in the obd1 ecu.

You need to either use your stock harness and adapt it to fit the obd1 motor, then add wires for vtec.
or
You need to get a '96-'98 ex harness. You wont need to wire in vtec, since the ex already has it, but you will still need to adapt it to fit the obd1 motor.

Personally, I would just get the distributor that goes with the engine. So I'd look for an obd1 B series dist.

OBd1 ecu does not look for the crank speed fluctuation sensor, so you dont need to worry about that. Get the oil pump made for the gsr.

You can use what ever injectors you want. If you use the peak and hold, you will need to wire in a resistor box, though.

Okay, what exactly is involved in "converting" a harness to OBD-1? Which sensors, plugs, ect are different?

Which injectors would be plug and play, no clips required?

Converting a harness involves switching to obd1 plugs for the distributor, injectors, alternator, and since yours is a dx, changing from a 3 wire IAC to a 2 wire.

If you dont want to change injector plugs, just get obd2 B-series injectors.
or
Do a search on injector size. Its possible that your DX injectors are the same size as the gsr injectors. If they are, you can simply reuse them.
I just cant remember off the top of my head.

Man did that injector size search turn up a pissing match

Census says that my stock DX injectors are in fact 240cc.

So far I'm concluding this:

I'm buying a 96-98 Integra GS-R MSD Distributor, a 96 or newer alternator (I need a new one anyway), using my stock injectors with the stock plugs (while the motor breaks in, then they're coming out in favor of some Saturated RC 750's). The only wires I'm changing/adding are IAC and VTEC.
