*Takes Deep breath*
Ok, here's what I did. On the OBD1 harness, there's 1 big plug plug. On the distributor there's 1 smaller plug and 1- 2 prong plug.
Hold the 1 plug and the set of 2 plugs next to each other so they're both pointing the same direction (both as they would be on the car, for example) The wiring pattern matches exactly. NOT the colors, but the PATTERN. for example..
:1 plug:
X X X X X X 0
__X X X X X 0
:2 plugs:................Plug2
X X X X X X.............0
__ X X X X X.............0
Not sure this is EXACT, but the idea is the same. See how the 0's on the 1-plug are in the same place as the 0's on the 2 plug setup? and the blank pin is in the same place? They just opted to use 2 plugs instead of one here. Just cut them ONE AT A TIME, and splice into the 2 plug setup in the exact geographic location they came off of on the first plug. Those 0's BTW will be blue and black/yellow. Those match colorwise. I THINK the green one matches too, but not sure. This is kinda confusing but the principle is simple. Let me know if this helps?

EKH22tim said it very well
Basically you want match up the pin-outs of the back of the clip harness between the stock OBD1 and the OBD2 clips.
You will need to take off the OBD2 clip from the stock motor and use it on the H22 distributor.
