Obd-2 vs. Obd-1 VSS

Obd-2 vs. Obd-1 VSS
Does anybody know if an obd-1 vss is different from an obd-2? Also, what is the difference in wiring b/t the two?

Sounds like you just answered your question but yes they are different. Use an obd 1 sensor on an obd 1 harness use the obd 2 sensor on an obd 2 harness, you can put the obd 1 vss on an obd 2 harness you just have to change the plug over.

hey quik1,
how about this: would a 92-95 vss work on a 97 ex d series transmission??
my stock 93 cx trans is **** and im getting a 97 ex d series trans. but its missing the vss can i just switch the vss on there and still have it work properly??? thanks for any help...

i got a 2001 b18c1 in my car with the 95 obd1 gsr harness. al the sensor on my b18c1 are the 2001 sensors. u dont have to switch your vss out. yor harness will plug into the obd2 vss.
