o2sensor problem
Hi all,
I have a 97 Honda Civic with 82,000 miles on it.
My check engine light came on....took it to a mechanic for a computer read. He advised me to replace both sensors. I replaced them with Bosch sensors. Two days later, the light came on again. Mechanic read that it was running lean, advised me to take it to the dealer for a more accurate read. I added some fuel injector cleaner at this point. Dealer said the front sensor was not reading correctly, replace it with another Bosch, and if the check engine light came on again then replace it with an original Honda O2sensor. Those are $250!!!! Before I go there.......
Does anyone have an idea what might be going on? Any experience here? Advice? I obviously don't work on my car myself, but do like to know what's up. Thanks!

Re: o2sensor problem (hondagrl)
Thank you All!
Denso was the first o2sensor I looked at online, but didn't know the brand, so I went to a parts store with the brand I knew....
I'll try it out.

Man i hate to see that you even spent a penny on this because you didnt have to at all. Honda has a emissions warranty on all 96-99 cars all the way to 150k miles. This means anything that is emissions related they have to fix it for free. Even the entire exhaust system. I know 6 people including myself who had the complete exhaust manifold, both o2's all replaced for free. They will also change your oil, give you new plugs, cap and rotor button all for free. Its sucks that not everyone knows about it and honda wont tell you if you dont know cause they loose enough money off that **** as it is. So take your car to the Honda dealer and say fix my car for free.
