Default Rear disc swap? Can you put 90-93 integra rear disc brakes on a 95 civic cx hatchback???

ok here is the question I have the 15/16th master cylinder and brake booster I think that came off of my integra which was on my crx long time ago well still have it and I am thinking about putting it on my hatch and Kinda of trying to do it today. So here is the question I have a set of 96 integra rear disc set up and a 90-93 integra rear disc set up so can they both work or what? I would like to use the 90-93 because they have brand new brakes pads on them and good rotors the 96 came from the junk yard and need pads and stuff so let me know what will work and what not any mods as well?

Also how can you tell if you got a 40/40 proportion valve?
95 civic cx says 3030 on it
the other ones Ihave says 1725 on it. Dont know what those are?

thanks

What front brakes are you using?

If stock CX/VX/DX/Si, then I would suggest not using a 15/16" master cylinder. It is unnecessary and can cause difficulty with pedal modulation.

Both will work. There are only minor differences between the '90-93 7CLP13S calipers and the '94-01 7CLP13S "R3" caliper bodies.

If you are swapping the complete trailing arms (you should never swap any other control arms) instead of just swapping the hub assemblies, then keep in mind that the '90-93 Integra uses a unique trailing arm bushing - in case you need to replace them in the future.

A 4040 proportioning valve will be engraved "4040" as the designation suggests.

However, if you're running the stock front brakes on your CX with the 9.5" rear discs and 7CLP13S rear calipers, then the 4040 valve is not the correct one for your application.

From an Integra (Nissin 17CL14VN caliper) or a Civic (Akebono caliper)?

You will need to get the car on an alignment rack after the rear disc conversion no matter what. If the big trailing arm bushings are broken, you have to replace them before you can get the car aligned. There is no point aligning the car unless all bushings are intact. You should have replaced the bushing while the trailing arm was off the car.

Since you used '90-93 Integra trailing arms, you will need the special '90-93 Integra bushing - part number 52385-SK7-N01 at your local Acura dealership. Cost is $59.43 each.

However, that will not necessarily solve your misaligned wheel problem. Did you swap just the trailing arms from the Integra, or did you use other arms as well (like the upper control arms or toe compensator arms)? If you didn't use any other arms from the Integra, then you may have a bent trailing arm - in which case, you'll need to swap on a different one.

ok so i think this is what I am going to do tomorrow put everything back t to the way it is tomorrow back to drums dont ask and I am short on cash. I have been working on this for a week now cant figure out why the car just looses control all the sudden when I drive it so I dont even know how to replace a bushing on that thing. I have a 96 rear disc conversion but It needs new rotors and new pads so maybe I will try to swap that conversion over but its abs. so if you remove the abs thing you can use it right on a non abs car? but Im out of ideas and I am so over this.

There has to be a condition under which the car behaves erratically. It can't just decide to go berserk for no reason while you're driving straight down the road.

What exactly is happening? Understeer? Oversteer? Is the car pulling in one direction while driving straight? Does this happen entering turns, exiting turns, on the throttle, on the brakes, over bumps?

The bad alignment and broken bushings are likely contributing to your handling issues, but if you have a bent trailing arm, there isn't much you can do except to swap it out.

<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">I dont even know how to replace a bushing on that thing.</TD></TR></TABLE>
It's pretty easy with the trailing arm off of the car. You just pound the old one out, then pound the new one in, making sure to orient it at the same angle.

<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">I have a 96 rear disc conversion but It needs new rotors and new pads so maybe I will try to swap that conversion over but its abs. so if you remove the abs thing you can use it right on a non abs car?</TD></TR></TABLE>
The ABS functions don't matter. You can leave the toothed ring on there; it won't hurt anything by being there (in fact, I don't think it's removable). The electrical sensor can be removed because it serves no purpose on a non-ABS car.

You can swap the hub assemblies onto your Civic trailing arms if you have an impact screwdriver with the proper sized Torx bit. If you don't want to do that, you can swap the rotors and calipers from the DA trailing arms onto the '96 arms and install those instead,

ok tell me this if you know this I know there 2 different parts number but will 90-93 rotors and pads work on a 94-00 acura integra rear disc assembly? if so then I am going to try that tomorrow. But what the car is doing is its like I reallly cant explain it but its just like when I am driving it tends to vear off and its too loose the steering is I mean. Its scaring me and Its not like how it was before. I know that does not make any sense.

It's probably toed out in the rear, and moreso on one side than the other, just as I figured. The broken bushing just compounds it because there is less control over the dynamic alignment.
