Default o2 sensor wire?

alright i got a chipped p28 and kevin disabled my o2 sensor going to my header because the wire was all messed up and i had a check engine light. Well that was about 3 months ago but just a week ago my car started acting up, battery light was coming on at high rpms and then the battery wouldnt stay charged up, got alt and batt tested checked out ok so i figured it had something to do with the wiring. i took it to the place next to rpm and they told me that its because that o2 wire was shorting out the alternator. DOes that sound right you any of you guys?
