o2 sensor not working
Situation-Have a 97 civic hatchback
-swapped a stock 97 jdm gsr motor obd2 with usdm p72 ecu
-used ek wiring harness from d16y7
-made the modifications for the wirings:
added knocksensor, vtec solenoid, extended o2 sensors, etc etc..
Problem:-have only 1 check engine light code 41
-the scanner at autozone cant read my p codes (linksys error)
-changed the primary o2 sensors 3 times with 1 new o2 sensor and 2 used
-still getting code 41
Does anyone know why? or could speculate? any ideas of what I should do? Im thinking about going a shop but if its a simple solution to fixing this then tel me. Thanks

Code 41 is the O2 heater circuit. You probably have a wiring problem unrelated to the O2 sensor itself. You will need to check the wiring between the ECU and the connector at the O2 sensor to find if there's an open or a short circuit. Not too hard to check.

I have the exact same code on my 96 semi stock 1.6 sohc. Showed up after putting a new cat on. Replaced upstream o2 with no positive results. There is a TSB for the main engine harness rubbing on the manifold bracket. I swapped my stocker for a blox manifold way before the code even showed up....Electrical owns me....

Re: o2 sensor not working (jadziasman)
so 41 is not just the o2 sensor itself but it could be the wiring? well I did a test. I used an 02 simulator to test out the sensor wires.. It blinks green when there is power indicating that the wires work. I plugged it into the primary sensor first and it flashed green indicating that it works. then I tried plugging it into the secondary o2 wire and voila! it doesnt flash green.. so that means theres something wrong wit the wires.. oh boy oh boy..

I dont understand what the problem is.. I know for sure one o2 sensor wire isnt working and thats the secondary o2 sensor wire. but it shouldnt affect the primary o2 wires and its working fine. there is however one plug thats not plugged into anything.. its a 2 piece plug and the color of the wires are green/black which is ground and red/yellow which could relate to an o2 sensor wire..

Your going to need a service manual and a digital multimeter. Theres just too many possibilities to pin point a single problem.
As far as I can tell, the grn/blk and red/ylw wires are on connector C112 and point to a IAT sensor on the D16Y7 engine harness. Double check that againist what ever you have plugged into the IAT.
You need to start by testing the wires on the O2 sensors. The service manual will tell you the specific wires you need, and show you which wires are what in the connectors and give you the values you need to see as well as tell you what to do next.

Yeah its wierd though because all of the sensors for my manifold are all plugged in.. I thought it was an IAT plug too but its not. The only one that fits with the plug thats on my manifold is the IAB solenoid. This round black box located right under the manifold. But from research they told me to connect a separate wire from that solenoid directly to the ecu for the dual butterflies so I did. Also on my moms 99 crv theres also a sensor wit 2 plugs on the manifold itself. so im confused..

im not sure but I know that they are all plugged in otherwise I would have gotten a CEL code for those.. remember Im only getting 1 CEL code which is 41 o2 sensor.. that means everything else is good..
