o2 sensor error, new sensor wired ok but still not working
I've just installed a new header (ractive 4-2-1) that uses both o2 sensors on the header it's self (not after the cat). My old o2 sensor is not going to come out of the old header so i had to go out and buy a replacment one. Well it's one of them Bosch universal o2 sensor that I wired to the old connector.
It's wired as follows (OLD to NEW): Green to Grey, White to Black, both Black's to whites.
The car will not throw a code right away when I disconnect the - terminal to the batt. Re-attach it and start it up. But after about 3 or 4 restarts it will again throw a o2 sensor code and check engine light comes on.
I'm assuming that the computer is getting the wrong info seeing how it's looking for after-cat readings.. Might anyone have any sujestions as where to check for problems? Advice?
Thanks

If both O2 sensors are in the header, and there isn't one after the cat, then the secondary O2 sensor is probably throwing the code. You can get an O2 sim, or put the secondary O2 sensor in after the cat.

I recommend getting the o2 sim. It's looking for the second one to be after the cat. The o2 sim chip is easy to install, and it won't mess you up

it is most important to find out which code you are throwing, it could be for the o2 sensor or for the o2 sensor heater, or both. or the secondary o2 sensor.

I know that it's the 2nd o2 sensor that is throwing the code. As far as the heater is conserned, I have wired the heater lines both ways with the expectation of possably wiring - to + Can anyone confirm a polarity difference in regards to the heater lines?
Now, for this "sim", can anyone skool me in what this is and woot parts I will need?

That is all you need, you can conenct it at the computer, or to the O2 sensor harness. I've even seen some taht just plug into the O2 sensor harness so you dont have to cut the wires. not too sure wher ethey are though, do some searching.

That does say it doesnt work on Acura cars. Since most of us run Swaps would that work with our ECU's?
Or is it the harness that doesnt work. I also seen this on the o2simulator.com.
Does anyone know why?

I'm not sure. However from experience this will work with most of the swaps we deal with, My roommate even has one on his 03 Civic Ex
I think they just blanketed all acuras, and it may be specific models with different O2 sensors or computers or something.
If you can wire this in, it will work.
