Will my wires burn up if my O-2 sensors on my headers are messed up?

why would they burn unless they are not in a protective coating/wrapper and laying directly on the pipes?

I recently dropped in a stock motor into my 00' EK non-vtec (d16y7) using the original obd2 harness to the motor and plugged everything up. The car was running cool for about a day and the next day the battery was drained, so i jump started the car. It was running cool when i drove it to work and on my way back home from work, my car just died and found that the wires were burning. The ignition coil fuse was blown and continued to blow everytime i jump started the car. Then after a few seconds, the car would run but then immediately shut off soon after. When I checked the engine bay, the harness wires were burning from the drivers side firewall to the O-2 sensors and my headers are cracked. So i cut up the wires and re-wrapped them. I plugged everything back up, started up the car, let it run, and the motor would choke everytime i'd rev it. A couple minutes later, it looked like the wires were burning again, but before the wires were smoking, everytime i gased it, smoke came out of the headers. SO.. if anyone can help me out, any assistance would be greatly appreciated. Could it be the cracked headers, bad ground, the ECU, or the O-2 sensor? Should i replace the harness wires and see what happens first? I NEED HELP ASAP. thanks and happy fourth of july.
