Default Nutty-*** idle problem...

Hey guys!

I have an H22A EG, and my car previously idled and surged from 1100-2200 RPM's. However, rerouting my coolant lines through my IACV fixed this problem.

My car now idles between 750-950 RPM's, but I ran into a problem yesterday. After driving my car for about 20 minutes, the idle started dropping to about 500-750 RPM's. While I was cruising at about 60 MPH, I would put my car in neutral and it would die.

Then I would start it up again and it would be fine. But again, I would pop it into neutral, and it would die out. I pulled over, let it sit for about 20 minutes, and it didn't happen again for a while. Has anybody encountered a similar problem?

No CEL's. I can't drive the car for more than like 20 minutes because if I do I'll have to keep starting it whenever I put it into neutral. It gets REALLY annoying!

do you have vafc hook up or anything? if you have code 3 = map sensor. that mean that your ecu can't get any feed back for the map that why it cut off on you. be sure that all the wiring are correct. especially the later eg with 2 map sensors. you have to use the wiring that go straight to the ecu.

I have the same issue from time to time. It will idle fine in the cold idle but after its warmed up it will start to fluctuate and sometimes drop to the point of stalling. Ive gone so far as replace my intake maniold but it still does it. I have a feeling its fitv related but I hope to replace my throttle body soon with an STR unit. hopefully that does it once and for all.

I'm running a VAFCII and using an external MAP sensor. The engine will still be running at around 600-650 RPM's, but if it drops any lower than that (and it does), the car will die. Obviously, this problem only is happening when the car is warmed up, and I've been driving it for a while. I wonder...

my friend and i swap out a dohc to sohc cause he got a 1/4 exhaust valve missing. nos working too good . anyway he got the same problem the car run fine for a day then it start to cut off on him at stop light for just sitting at idle. i had checked the map wiring for it. it looked good. come to find out the vafc wiring did not hook up. as you know the vafc cut into the ecu to monitor the map, rpm, vtec points.... you should use the map sensor that on the tb.

Oh I forgot. When I put the car in neutral, it's not like the idle keeps dropping until it dies. Within the .2 seconds that it takes me to put the car in neutral, it's dead

Does it matter if the car is warmed up or not when I adjust it? Should it be running or does it not matter? Also, loosening it ups the idle, correct?
