Nut on catalytic converter
The top nut, which is hard to reach, has rust on it so the 13mm socket won't fit over it. I've tried 14mm and it's too big. I've tried 1/2" and it's too small. I've tried 9/16" and it's too big. I tried a wire brush, tried WD-40...
Any ideas?
I've got an impact wrench... so once I can actually get a socket over it I'll have no problem...

have you tried taking the cat off from the header, so the exhast hangs lower? its a bit easier to get to that way.

use a extractor socket. It has spriral cuts inside and if needed hammer it on the nut(obviously your going to have to replace the nut) and turn it with a rachet.
