The number that keeps getting thrown around (I haven't seen any real proof yet) is 5000 of each color per year, which would make 15,000 per year for a total of 30,000 EM1s.

Hmmm.. I see them pretty frequently. Do they have their own ID number? (I've never read/heard anything about that, so probably not.) But you would think that if there was a limited supply of them, that they would've given them an ID number or something.
