Default not your typical 5-lug question...

whays up everyone.

i have a great opportunity to buy a full 5-lug conversion from a honda specialized scarp yard for pretty darn cheap. all the susp components have been removed from the car (originaly totaled). Id like to know if there is anyway or any place i can bring the parts to to check if there bent.

Need your advice. Thankx alot.

ps: although its a great deal, i dont wont to get bucked with bent parts.

aside from a visual inspection for bends , nope.

put them on , take it for an alignment and then hope everything is cool.

Let me buy them first, install them on my car, get an alignment, and then I'll tell you if they're bent or not.

Shawn

Ha Ha, just kidding. If you're spooked, though, clue me in because I would be interested.

I've seen alot of arms that are bent and dont look it.
the ONLY real way to tell is to get the specs from an alignment machine.

compare the parts from both sides. they should be symmetrical. if one looks more bent or less curvey than it's matching partner from the other side, then one of them is messed up. not a huge deal though, hell, buy a new knuckle or control arm if you need to. not the end of the world.

I had to buy a new pass side knuckle and wheel bearing with my 5-lug, and i went the cheapy route and bought a used gs-r one from a junkyard. that one ended up being bent too, but I didn't find out about it 'cause it was so slight until I had it on my car and saw that it rubbed up against my coilover springs when the car is lowered more than .5 inches.
