turbotime

Ok planning the nextupgrade for my car and although boost/build is in the near future, due to lack of funds I have to go_slow. So I was thinking of getting a vafc and getting my d16y8 with all the boltons tuned. Is this a worthwhile investment, I know when I get the turbo it will prove its worth, but for what I have now is there power to be gained by getting a vafc and having it tuned? I alse have a cam gear and adj. fpr so those would be tuned att his time as well.
