Im asking a question for a friend of mine, he has a 98 Civic EX i think its an EX it has the 1.6L VTEC. He is tring to change the factory deck for an aftermarket one and has found that alot of the electricals are wired throught it like the domelight. He is getting really frustrated and needs help so any help will be greatly appreciated.

You have to leave the stock deck in. It controls the dome light, keyless entry, alarms...all the dealer options. Just bury it somewhere behind the dash.

I am confused also.

What exactly are you trying to do? Your friend wants to swap out his factory tape deck for an aftermarket cd player or something? When I did mine, I had to buy a harness that was made for Hondas.

You have to leave it all connected or the dome light and keyless entry won't work. Mines gone, no biggie.
