Not Sure if vtec is works any help?
I took my car a couple of days ago to get my timing belt replaced and it turns out that the guy who put the belt on last time put it on wrong The guys at the shop said the timing was way off and it caused the car to fire on the wrong cyclinders!!! They also told me to get a vavle adjustment because the timing has been off for so long. Well anywas when they took the valve cover off the oil was caked on all over. Its looked terrible. The guy said that it was the worst build up he had ever seen on a honda. After the job was done the guy told me that he took it for a test drive and said that he couldn't hear the vtect kick in. Its a sohc d16 so i know the kickin won't be that noticable like on the b series but what do you guys think? Do you think that the oil build up could have clogged up the vtec solinoide? Please let me know.

so your timing belt is on right again?
if so get a valve adjustment, make sure the timing is set to stock and get an oil change. then take further actions if needed
