Default not more CEL...

car: d16y8, 99 civic ex

So yeah, now im un-boosted (going to build the motor on the side). For now the car is back to completely stock (motor wise), today was the first time I tried starting it up after taking the turbo kit off (about 1 month since I last ran it - had to get parts, etc). I threw a CEL #14 - Idle problems. The car will idle real low and sometimes just die and shut off, without being able to restart it. It's all real jerky between gears when it does run though. My question is, when I had the turbo kit on, I was not throwing CEL #14 and now that I took it off, I am. The only thing I changed (that would affect idle) was putting the stock airbox back on. We even took that out and put the upper charge piping on with a filter on the end & still the same code, so any ideas? I doubt its the IAVC, unless that dies after not running for a month?

**EDIT: I also currently still have the NGK 2 step colder plugs, since I havent had time to go get OEM Honda ones, maybe this has an affect?

Also, after pulling the CEL via the paper clip method, it flashes code 14, but then pauses and does 7 LONG flashes, which would mean code 70, but there is no code 70?

heres the link to the ecu thread... https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=1171263
CEL #14= iacv

i have no idea what CEL #70 means but...
CEL # 71 = misfire cyl. #1
CEL # 72 = misfire cyl. #2
CEL # 73 = misfire cyl. #3
CEL # 74 = misfire cyl. #4

try checking the timing and get some oem wire/plugs... it may be detinating because your running colder plugs... i think, not 100% sure

Regular spark plugs may help the jerkiness, but they wouldn't have anything to do with the CEL. If you were running a "missing link" setup, did you change that back to stock? Did you make sure you didn't accidentally bump any connectors loose? Are the coolant lines running to the proper places?

Just some suggestions. Good luck.

thanks for the help. Im going to get OEM plugs later today and ill try that out. I didn't run a missing link setup (I was using uberdata). The coolant lines are hooked up just as they were OEM (ive double checked the lines many times. We did move the adjustable cam gear 2 degress back, so its at 0. Maybe that had something to do with it?

if you moved the cam gear 2 degrees back did you check your timing? if that is off then that might be why its not running properly

would that just be reason for the not running properly? it wouldnt be the cause of either CEL right?

if the timing is off then it will more than likely give a CEL for a misfire, if it is off by enough... and the car definitly wouldn't be running right. but did you get new plugs/wires?
