Default not good.... lesson to be learned

i had the bi run at the track.... rock on, free pass to the finals... did my burnout as usual, but it didnt feel right. i was right. i left the hole around 4K like i always do. the shift light blinded me, hit rev limiter and i let off. i got pushed back to the pits... heres why:
damages first
axle broke first

all of the torque made the engine jump up. that in turn broke the motor mout bolts right out of the block.

after that broke, the engine shot up and dented the hood, bent the FPR, and broke my siren for my alarm

about 2 hours this morning and this is the outcome.
backyard engineering at its finest

moral of this story... if you plan on swapping. ALWAYS double check your motor mount bolts on the ENGINE side.... there was one missing. and if the AC bracket was there this would not have happened.

Yes it would have happend. I had the same thing happen in my EK with the Gsr motor. Driver side mount broke all the bolts, A/C backet mount bold broke too, the engine slid down and the only thing that kept it off the ground was the lower front tie bar(thank god for $20 ebay bars). Get the HaSport mounts and you will never have any more problems. 98ctr

its not the mounts themselves that are bad... and for the record... HASPORT mounts suck.... my engine stayed up in there by the other 2 mounts and where the tranny hit the passanger(sp?) side frame rail.

dont forget to torqueing everything down to the rite spec... too tight and snapped bolts and stripped screws are all you are going to get...

do either of you run these? and dont lie... for all out racing yes, HASPORT mounts arent bad.... street driving they are horrible. everythign shakes like mad.

my main reason for not liking them is the pass side mount on out 89 hatchback has squirted the rubber out of the mount itself... and also...

its not just their mounts... we have broken 3 of their stage one 300WHP axles... we have a stock B16.

so basically its not just the mounts im unhappy with.

the reason hasport mounts shake everything is b/c of the polyurehtane bushings. if you replace them with a softer material all of your vibrations will disappear... like the free pass you had to the finals! J/K man, had to take a shot... but hasport mounts are great, and if you did use them i would complain to hasport, they have great customer relations. what mounts were you using anyway??

It doesn't look that bad on the other side .

Sorry to hear that bro. Did you do that @ Delmar? I got the Turbo on! Hopefully we'll be @ Delmar next weekend (street tuned) making some decent passes .

Yes I run the HaSport mounts on my 11 sec. 400 whp streed driven EK. And the only reason they would "shake like mad" is because your stuff in the car is not tight and it would vibrate anyway with what ever mounts you would have.

I run my car at the track with stock axles and 24.5x9x13 slicks and never broke any axles nor any trannys. BTW im running stock oem axles and pushing 15psi boost at about 400 whp.

So the conclusion is that you don't know how to drive your car and you keep braking everything. 98ctr

That sucks man, 3 hours after we got my LS swap done, I broke the same mount and my hood met my valve cover. Now, my hood has a pimple

Incase you havent already, check your crank pulley out and the inner fender well, when my motor moved it hit the body and took some chucks out of the car and the crank pulley, again:
