not in FAQ: f22 swap?
well i can tell you all are gonna start hating me for all my posts
anyway
my friend has a 94 accord with a f22 in it and this weekend is picking up a h22 swap. and in 3weeks he will have an f22 for sale. he said ic ould have the motor, trans, wiring, and ecu for 200bones.
1-i didnt see anything about an f22 in an eg hatch in the FAQ. is it not do able? or just not a common swap?
2-if it is possible, are there custom mounts needed?
or is it an easy drop in and drive swap?

Re: not in FAQ: f22 swap?
Fairly easy swap. Some potential. Do-able amount of aftermarket support. Requires custom mods to the chassis. Your getting most of it for free so if you really want to go through with it than go ahead. But just to let you know the guys that are running the faster f series mounted their motor on to a b series tranny. f22b isnt new but as soon as the bisi-boom went off people started getting more serious with them. But I'm pretty sure someone will say get a f22a motor instead. Its the same as a h22 swap.

what kind of chassis mods are needed? welding?
or just custom mounts?
anyone have a link to a swap thread saved?
i found nothing so far.
im not looking to build a super quick car. the d15 is just slow as ***** and i'd like a tad more get up, and its a great deal for only $200.
but this is my daily, so i'd need her to be reliable.
whats reliability like d15 vs f22?

Re: not in FAQ: f22 swap?
like the other guys have said, this is do-able and similar to an H-series swap and H2B swap.
in a DD though... realize you won't have room for A/C or P/S. you must use custom axles, a mount kit, custom shifter install and you're hood may not clear without some spacing and/or cutting.
and i'm a firm believer that a $200 motor is still a $200 motor... there are exceptions but you're probably looking at a motor that needs a rebuild. bare minimum- T-belt kit, rear main seal, plugs, wires...
with that said, you'll have a $200 motor with several hundred more getting it in the car and in good shape, no A/C no P/S
look into something like an low-mileage LS swap with a set of cams and a tune.

Re: not in FAQ: f22 swap?
hmmm very good info going on here. i like it.
as for power steering and ac, i have neither, so no worries.
it keeps coming up that mounts will be needed.
is it a mount in production that i can just order?
or does it need to be fabbed up?
same witht he axles and shifter that were mentioned
i need to make sure no welding or anyhting needs to be done, as i cant weld

Re: not in FAQ: f22 swap?
as far as i'm aware you can treat this like an H22 swap described in this thread.
H22>>civic FAQ
there may be some small details that are different, but it should serve as a fairly good guide.

you must live somewhere cool and/or dry... A/C is not optional in a daily driver here in SC, haha.
