Default NOS and auto

my sis drives a Civic EX auto, and complains its too slow (which it is). Would a 50 shot of NOS be safe on the engine and transmission? she dont know much about taking care of cars, so i dont want it to break down on her...

Automatics tend not to like anything more than what stock is... Nitrous and someone who doesn't know much about cars isn't a good combo either... The engine will be fine, it's just the transmission that will be the problem. Your choice though, good luck with it at any rate

actually, all she wants to do with the nos is to pass other cars better...

Well, I'd be leary of doing it even for that. It's like all the sudden you make a car have 170 some crank horsepower with an automatic transmisson, something will break. Trust me on this, my cousin did it for a month and all the sudden the car wouldn't shift gears after a stoplight.. Not good. Plus, Honda Auto's aren't that good for performance anyway... Granted, it is a cheap, reliable way to make slow cars eat your dust but you'll be spending 850+ on the new transmission very soon

pass other cars on the freeway man, she must have a heavy foot. NOS will eat that motor up if she plans on using it everyday!

What had your sis done w/ her car so far? NOS is the last resort...especially 50 shot on a automatic is insane.

Isn't a minute of NOS use the equivalent of 1000 miles on your engine? Thats what I heard.....
and just to pass cars? Seems to be an expensive method to save a few seconds...

is your sis cute? jk

anyways, when my car was an automatic d16, the tranny didnt like nitrous very much. eventually, it started shifting really harsh and jerked inbetween gears although it was 75 shot. anyways, IMO nitrous isnt all that... my b18c is never gonna see nitrous ever.
