i peeled my carpet up today and i noticed that the bottom of my carpet is damp and so is the floor of the car. is it normal for this to build up over time? or could it mean i'm leaking something and don't know it? i mean the top of the carpet is dry so i'm pretty stumped.

no its not normal. I had that happen to me in one of my cars. It turned out the heater coil went out and started to pour water onto my carpet. after a while it starts to mold up and stink bad.. you may wanna get that checked out.
