Default is this normal??

-94 gsr in a 93 civic hatch w. i/e/ chipped JDM p30-

lately when i slam on the accelerator right at around 35-45 mph (i dont have a tach so not sure what rpm those are) the temperature guage DROPS all the way as if the car was cold as ice, and when i shift into second (usualy at around 40mph) it boggs down, almost like vtec dissengages till it gets to about 45 and the temperture gauge starts to work correctly, then vtec kicks in again. Also, i usualy shift into 3rd at around 65mph, since u can tell when the car is revving to high, but today, when i was 'testin it', at around 55mph, the car sounded like i was past the rev limiter! it was WAY higher soundin than what it normaly sounds like at 65-ish mph...

plus it feels way slower... i was messing around with someone i know that was in a 4dr cavalier, and i was barely pullin on him, when i should have murded him...

TIA!

i know my clutch is going out, thats probably why it was revving so high at such a low mph, and why i wasnt pulling on that cavalier as hard as i should have.... but the other problems question me...

bump

my temp gauge starts to jump sometimes depending how hard i step on the accelerator. faulty connection maybe? anyone know why my car gets lazy when i shift into second?

i 'tested it' today, and im not sure if it did or it didnt, but im almost certain vtec disengaged between 40 (shifting spot) till i got to about 45 mph. the car basicaly sounds like:

ive been using the p30 for over a year, chipped it during the summer, and never had a problem with it till i started DD'ing the car when school started like a month ago. really, this started happening last week, but i did notice like a small lack of power about a month ago. i think all the traffic in the morning, and the traffic after school really put alot of stress on my clutch, so that could be why it feels slower. its probably slipping.

thanks, anymore opinions?

... bump again

ok, so my clutch is going out. today i had to almost floor it to shift into second even though my clutch was about 90% disengaged. vtec bogging down is stil la mystery to me though. think it has anything to do with the temp gauge jumping? cause doesnt vtec only activate when the car is at the proper temp. and when i shift, my gauge drops, and when it goes back up, vtec starts working.
