Noob question about G-Tech

Re: Noob question about G-Tech (Zer0DazE)
The g-tech's are pretty accurate. The only thing is you have to be on a level surface and the actual meter has to be level as well. My buddy had one that we use to use but I was hard as hell to keep the meter level. If you went up or down hill your readings would be totally off. Plus its hard to find long strait strips that aren't heavily populated. Its a 50/50 on its worth IMO.

well, IMHO GTech's suck.
Showed a 13.8 or so pass when I only ran 15.4 with my D15 with slicks.
Yes it was setup correctly.

Re: Noob question about G-Tech (Mista Bone)
GTech measures differently from a timing strip. GTech begins measurement when an acceleration threshold is suddenly breached (ie, standing full-throttle start). It works best on smooth, level roads. From my experience, the difference betweeen GTech and the track should be consistent. ie, if you ran stock, then put a turbo and ran again, the time difference between stock and turbo will be about the same, say, 1 second, for both the GTech and the track.
Gtech isn't the end-all cure...it's a few colors out of the whole picture.
