Noob alert: Thinking of getting a EK and want some pointers
If i am looking for an EK hatch and later on looking to throw a b16b in there, what all should i look for in problem wise with the ek? Specific things like to be troublesome? and i used to have a DSM so im used to having to ghetto rig stuff, so i think i can handle little things. Any help would be nice

Re: (Kampfer)
some problems you might have are lack of speed... instead of the b16b, get a b18c1. or if you can afford it get a b18c5. and the best advice i can give you, is don't get a white EK. those things are really gay.

Don't get a B16B.
The B16B is a stupid engine to buy if it didn't come in your car from the factory. Get a JDM B18C instead.
You'll thank me later.

well i want a b16b because of its relative cheapness compared to the b18c5 and im not too clear on b18c1 prices

you know what, get the b16b. also pick up a b18c crank and rods while you are at it. throw the rods and the crank in there, and you have an engine that will kill a b18c5. it'll make ~215 horsepower at the crank

Pretty much everything besides ZO6's, some M3's, Roush Stangs
NSX's are dope, hope you're just being sarcastic. Wanna race my EK Chris Y0!? I'm in the 805 too
I went from a first gen DSM to an EK....The DSM had power everything and turbo. I would'nt wanna go back though, that thing was a headache. Broken tranny's, clutches, suspension sucked *** in the rear. You'll probably have alot more fun with the EK

please, don't waste your time and money in a 1.6, its not worth it, seriously. get a b18c1 or 5

Ill have to agree with these guys about not spending the money on the B16b. A B18c1 is comperable in price and will actually have some torque available.

i have a b16a in my 99 si, but if i could do it all over again i would have put a b18c1 in an EK..think about the future as well. if you are going turbo get the b18c1 and if you are going all motor i suggest LS/Vtec.
