Hey I'm new here, Not new to the automotive world. My name is Andre from Manhattan Kansas. Anyone from this area? I have a 94 Honda Civic EX sedan. Its pretty simple just has some 17s, lowered with an exhaust and a intake and a custom stereo. I bought it from my brother about a year ago who has owned it since 98. It now has 250,000 mile on it and runs like the day he got it. My goals is to keep it simple and clean. I want some JDM styling. SO somethings will change my biggest thing is I want to boost the SOHC I believe its a D16Z6 motor. Not sure. How can you tell exactly what motor it is? I been building bagged minitrucks with small blocks but have always loved clean hondas. And looking at this site its going to help a lot. Here are some pics with the new rims and the old stupid Mazda Miata rims that you had to grind to make them fit.

yeah 94 ex civic is equipped with d16z6 sohc vtec engine and welcome to ht. u mean u want your car looks like jdm, right ? i guess head lights..corner lights and tail lights..lips..side markers on fenders. rebuild your motor first before u turbo it since it has so many miles on it.

its stamped right on the block, theres a little plate on it that says D16z6. your motor also came in the del sol Si's from 93 to 95.
looking at your motor look like 8 inches directly below the front lefthand corner. it should say d16z6 right on it
as far as the turbo goes you dont want to boost that motor....yet....
rebuild it.
for more info go to the forced induction forum
and about the JDM styling. go for some amber corners, some new fogs, a lip, and some smaller rims....then slam it, cause everything looks better slammed
other than that youve got a great car there, take care of it and it will take care of you
welcome to HT!!

Re: Noob (94sedanex)
Yea that much I know. I'm looking in to what I need to do to rebuild it and build it for boost. The rims were 200 bucks from a friend that just needed to get rid of them. So they were better then the crappy 16s. I want to find another set of clean 16s for it. And right now the car is about 1"-1.5" Lower then what it is in that pic. Roads here are crap so I have to test the waters before I just slam it to the ground. Winter is coming up so I will be running just the steelies with the honda center cap. Come tax returns I should get some wheels I want.

Re: Noob (94sedanex)
Well rice is the last thing this car will look like. The white emblems are already pulled waiting for the new stock ones to come in. Like I said the rims were just a quick deal not exactly what I want but I know I can sell them for more then I paided for them. Also were can I find JDM thin moulding for the sedan and the slim window visors and also things for the interior like the air bag pocket and a different steering wheel. I been looking at password JDM but I need more sites. I also have some other questions I have a sunroof so the switch where the stock fog lights go is filled can I put the foglight switch beside the defroster so I still have a clean look in the car? I already have the double din center console and then I have some q logic kick panels due to I love a clean sounding system. And is there anywhere I can find a chrome type r shifter instead of the titanum? Sorry for all the questions but I been building lifted and bagged trucks all my life and now I have came to the dark side. Thanks for any help anyone can give me. And I'll write back in a couple days after my trail period is over due to this is my 5th message.

Re: Noob (fuzznut)
Thanks for the link I'll check it out. And I will always keep the four door alive. Everyone here has a hatch or a coupe. I am like one of like 3 four doors here that have anything done to it. I hope to have everything but paint done this winter. Due to the truck sucks in the snow so I cant afford not to have the honda off the road for longer then the weekend and I hate the wifes automatic in her jetta. Love the car hate the transmission. LOL

i dont know exactly where to get them, possibly the marketplace here, but i have heard that koni yellows / ground control setup is a proven and trusted suspension
