non-vtec D16y7 convert to vtec????
I have a 96 civic with non-vtec d16y7 engine and was looking to convert it to have vtec. I searched the forums but couldnt find anything. so if you could please put a link or write a description of what i would need to upgrade my non vtec engine to have vtec it would be awesome. Thanks.

you did not search because this has been covered.
you have a d16y7 engine.
just buy a d16y8 head, get the P2P ecu and you can do 2 things
1) get the wire harness of a Ex engine with a y8 on it or
2) run a wire from the ECU to the vtec solenoid

If you really want to get technical here it is correctly spelled as 'VTEC' since it is an acronym for Variable Valve Timing and Electronic Lift Control meaning all four letters must be capitalized because they each represent a word.
