Default Non-OEM Replacement Fenders?

Car is a '96 Civic Ex

Does anyone have any experience with non-OEM replacement fenders? CarID sells a brand called "Replace", which look the exact same as the ones sold on ebay.

I'm wondering about two things, their:
1. Fitment
2. Material

I'd rather not spend $300 on new OEM fenders, but if I have to I will. I appreciate any insight

From my experience with non OE anything, fitment is usually not as good.
The aftermarket fenders are thin and weak as ****, I've seen a couple bend from the mechanic leaning over them.

I say stay away, I haven't had experience with fenders but have with bumpers. Fitment is an issue.

I would look for a pair of used oem ones and recondition them if needed. Will be a lot cheaper, especially if you can find them in the color you want.

Aftermarket fenders are ok if they're CAPA certified. The cheap ones are much thinner and don't fit well. I'm partial to Gordon myself, they're heavy and seem to fit well most of the time.

The biggest problem with aftermarket body parts is that most people buy the value stuff and it's just junk, the certified stuff actually fits for the most part.

This.

If you want perfect fitment, get OEM. If you dont mind playing with the fenders for awhile to make them 80% perfect, get the capa cert ones.

Thanks EG8, good to know about the CAPA cert. I'm gonna hack up the fenders I have now and if I just can't stand it, I'll be in the market again

I recently bought non OEM fenders, and they fit and feel fine. I still have the original damaged fender, and the replacement feels just as thick and sturdy. It fits perfectly fine.
