Default noises help

okay so heres the deal. my car is making some ugly kind of a grind noise. first when its idling it does it and as soon as i put my clutch pedal all the way in it stops.
when i take off it doesnt do it again till like 3,500 rpms and its louder and faster.
everything is performing the same but its just making that noise.
oh and i have a 97 civic hatch dx if that helps. any help is greatly appreciated thanks

could be a heat shield. or sometimes the stock exhaust manifold will rattle inside and make that kind of noise.

Does it sound a bit like two knives scratching together?? mine made that noise at certain revs, and as said before it was the heat sheild above the cat. Rip it off you don't need it

its your throw out bearing... cheap but a pain in the *** to change. You might as well put in a new clutch while your at it.
