Default noise under shifter boot (auto tranny)

Well, I am back again with another question. I posted a few weeks ago about an erratic blinking D4 light (https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?&i...ostid=22598127). The light still occassionally blinks crazilly; however my car has been running fine the majority of the time so I havn't felt too pressed to take it into a shop to get it checked out.

However, today was a bit different. I started my car to go home from work and while it was in park, I could hear a rattling sound underneath the automatic shifter. I depressed the brake and it went away; however it would come back when I released the brake. I decided to drive home and did not hear any unusual any noise during the trip. When I got home though, I put my Civic into park and rattling noise underneath the shifter came back as soon as I put any pressure on the brake.

I do plan on taking my car to a shop to have it checked out because this is sort of worrying me. However, I would greatly appreciate it if anyone knew what the problem could be; specifically, how the brake is connected to the shifter that could be causing a rattling sound. Thanks.
