Default noise in the rear at a sharp right turn!!

this is a weird noise. i have searched and i recieved two posts but they were on integras so it might not have helped..
i first noticed this sound when i had people in the back of the car and figured it was just rubbing but only now it does it all the time. every right turn almost i get the noise it sounds as rubbing would but is possible its more than that the sound is undeffined. i gave my self a quick shock test but bouncing on each side of the rear firmly to see if my shocks had worn and are just craping out on me and the right side gave a squeak.. my suspension set-up is tokico blues in front and all around eibach sportline springs rear shocks are stock. for some reason im having a hard time w/ searching and would appreaciate some help on wat might be going on this sound is killing me i cant stand noise..
by the way i just changed exhausts and it came right after that pretty much.. i went from a 5zig fireball to a rsr gt2 exh. and am wondering if that might effect something as well because there is nothing but difference between the two.. t.i.a someone i hope can help me out.. 4 now im gonna go get it in the air and take a look.

Check to see if the exhaust is hitting the heat shield, your swaybar, or something else. Kick your tailpipe around some. Then get a jack and raise up the car and lower it quickly while watching for the sound. Put the rear of the car on jack stands, take the wheels off, then jack up each hub individually.

There are some noises you will never find. Like in my hatch, if I brake hard or go down a steep hill, it sounds like I have broken glass/keys/loose change sliding around in my spare tire well, but I've stripped out the whole rear and found nothing!

Have you checked to make sure you spare tire is in tight? I know it sounds stupid, and it could just be something as simple as that. hrmm.. does your exhaust pipe hang low? is it just at certain speeds?

Look around the outside of the shock body back there. Sometimes the shock will make a strange noise if it blows a seal. You won't hear the noise unless the shock is compressed rapidly. If it is blown it should have a bunch of gunk on the outside.

It's the only other thing I can think of.

Good Luck!

The noise like a sqeak or a screech? Maby your tire in rubbing the fender.

it should be the wheel bearing on the side where the noise is coming from.

what size wheel/tire are you on? i assume its something 16"+ since you say it rubs when people are in the back. When a wheel rubs, people assume that the wheel is rubbing the fender and that they need to roll the fenders. That might be the case if you can visually see that the offset is not right for that car. But usually rubbing on an EG hatch is the metal plate where you screw your rear bumper to in the fenderwell. look at where your rear bumper is screw on at in fender and see if the plate is is shiny. if so get a mini and knock it back and youll be good.

btw: hope that helps cause that was my problem with rubbing.

1. spare tire= secure
exhaust shot.. its not that low (is jacked up but u get wat im sayin

the wheel and tire seem to not have a oversized off set and no polished behind the wheel.
2. all bushings no gunk
(i like this shot.. )
and my exhaust pipe..
stumped.. other then the fact that the joints look dry i cant find anything im going to spray up some wd-40 and see what happens

Ok...has your car ever been hit in the rear?

Check the rear cross member for cracks. I had a CRX, a long time ago, that had a crack in the cross member and it would creak and stuff in turns.

Another thing it could be is the bolt(s) that holds the shock(s) in. Check that all the bolts are tight. I'd check all the suspension bolts...not just the rear...sometimes sounds can be decieving as ot their location.

yea i have a 95 cx with H&R race springs but they are integra spec, i dont kno if its uneven shock heights or what but im having the same problem. The only thing i can think of to be my problem is a blown shock or else im missing a bushing or one is just not in the right position. Ive gotten used to the noise but just nowing that its there jus pisses me off. If u find out whats wrong with yours let me kno and ill take mine apart again and try to fix it.

Bump for you!

I'm having the same problems, at first I thought it was the hatch lid that was making the rattling/sqeaking noise, but now I'm thinking it might be the rear TA bushing.
