Default Noise from engine somewhere?

My friend bought this 00 civic ex and when i was driving it around, in first gear there is a noise that sounds kinda like my teg's axles when i turn sharp but this is just driving forward and in first its the most noticable... when you speed up the noise speeds up, i can hear it a little bit in second and not really in third... any thoughts? maybe clutch or tranny i really dont know.. i hope he didnt get a lemon

yes i know my integras cv's are worn but its a similar sound

maybe tranny, maybe the car was lowered or is too much and axles are worn to peices. if you are skilled enough you should just listen more closer and then take off the stuff you think is messed up and inspect it.

my car did that and it ended up being that the clutch wasnt connecting to the flywheel correctly anymore causing it to rub against it and making a wierd sound. are u having any trouble getting into gears or anything like that? I had to replace my clutch and that fixed my problem dotn know if thats the case with u though. i have a 92 civic

i know its not the axles because when we took the wheels off i could see they were fine... there wasnt really any trouble for me to get it in gear but i only drove it home from where we bought it... my friend, who has never driven a stick, has stalled a bunch of times from being in third... either being dumb and thinking it was first or not being able to get it into first im not sure

just drive it around for a few days cause it took my car almost a week to start messing up with getting into gear. teh noise came first and then a few days later is when i started having trouble. so to see if its the clutch i would drive it around for the next week regularly and see what happens. if it is the clutch then just buy a clutch kit and get it fixed keep me updated
