No vtec and no cel on a minime???? WTF?!?!!??!
Ok right now I'm at work and I just dropped my car off to be dyno tuned after my minime was all said and done last weekend.....
Well they just called me and said that my vtec is not engaging because they set my vafc2 to 5500 and then to 3900 and no change in power on the dyno.......... sooooo WTF??? I have a dx with an ex engine harness and p2p and all I did to modify the wiring was install the vafc2 and the guy who was tuning my car checked it and said it was good...........
I'm so pissed right now that my ****** car isn't working right and it should be, no cels or anything!!
Anybody have any ideas???? I would really appreciate it..........

Ok, obviously the sensors are ok because there are no codes, they already checked the oil level, and my wiring so I don't think that that is it.......... it may be wiring cuz there is no way to tell if that **** is messed up.
What are the vtec conditions? Speed, rpm, oil pressure?? What else?
Has anybody else had this problem?

y7 blocks don't have oil jets that need to be removed if that's what he's using.

True...........

Don't you think that it would activate a cel to come up if the solenoid wasn't working? I would think so, thats why I don't think that is it.
Any other suggestions? Thanks for the help so far......

It can't hurt to check. Takes a few mins to do. Just put your front end on jack stands and warm the car up to normal operating temp and take it up to vtec. Also on a sohc motor it's sometimes hard to tell if vtec activates because it is pretty quiet. When I finished my y7/y8 mini me it was hard to tell it was activating. Now after 6 months, it's a little more noticable when vtec turns on, but it still is pretty quiet.

Well I'm trying to have it dyno tuned, so they said that the power was EXACTLY the same when they set vtec to 3900, 5500, and when they unplugged the vafc2. Also the vafc2 says that it is coming on and it also "learned" the stock vtec conditions too so I don't know wtf is going on......... it must be a mechanical problem cuz otherwise I would get a code 21 or 22 right?
I will check the current too as soon as possible.........

How do you know? I thought y7s don't have oil jets like b7's and such? Chowmein agrees with me and he's done it so I think that he would know...........
Anybody else that can help?

Yep y7's don't have it on the surface of the block. They are inside the block and does not have to be modified whatsoever.
