No Vtec..malfunction
Alright here's the scenario. Vtec is set at 5100 and I was taking off a highway ramp just now and hit it to 6500 and still I can't feel Vtec engaging. I thought that I just didn't hear it kicking in so after fetching my friends home I took it to the ramp again
My rev limit is set at 9000 and when I floor it..and there it was, no vtec and after it gets to 7000 it started bogging and the check engine light came on. Since I don't have the tools and no garage I can't check the code right now so I was just wondering what the problem might be? Ohh at times the check water light does come on for a second and then it goes off (water/coolant level is at max)
It's a built B18C1 and if you guys need the mods let me know I'll post it cause it's kinda long

Get a paper clip or a short piece of wire and check the code. You're much more likely to get help fast if you do this. Was it working fine before?

Nope just went outside to turn on the engine and the check engine light is off, called a friend and he said that OBD1, after you turn off the engine and turn it on again the light will go off.
One more thing, I did try using a paper clip to check the codes but when I pull out the service connector..there's like 2 of them, one with 2 holes and another with 3 and all has wires in them.
Sorry I'm kind of a newbie and I'll bring it to a local performance shop on Mon but right now I need the help of you guys to at least have a rough idea what it might be.

stick both ends of the clip into the plug with two openings. turn the key to on and watch the check engine light blink that will tell you your code. slow blink is the first number, fast blink is the second number. then come back and tell us what the code number is.

It threw a code 22- Vtec pressure valve
I checked the engine oil level and it's totally gone..and I couldn't find any trace of leakage

Yea my car does smoke a lot at high rpms but I do check my oil level constantly because of that
[QUOTE=japspecjohn]
Are you having a lot of seepage? Is there oil caked on your oil pan?
[QUOTE]
I checked around and found oil seeping through the sides of the valve cover.
