no vtec engagement, no cel's.
i searched about 25 topics on vtec engagement and lack there of and couldn't find a similar situation to mine.
ok, about a week ago my idle began to surge up to about 2k and then rest at 1500. everytime i come to a stop it surges between 1500 and 2k about 4 times and then settles at 1500 again. still not sure on that issue, i don't have any vacuum leaks and i have yet to check the iacv.
anyway, i took my intake off earlier and put the stock setup back on just to be sure there weren't any possible vacuum leaks (i was trying to fix the above problem). i drove down the street and got on it and there was no vtec. there are no cel's and my oil level is fine. the car still revs to 8k plus, but it feels like a non vtec motor, the revs just continue to climb normally.
any ideas are welcome.
i'm not sure if these to problems have any relation, but i would love some input.
this is a jdm b16b btw.

First, the intake wouldnt be related to a vacuum leak. a vacuum leak would be located after the throttle body.

3rd, wait more than 10 minuets before you bump your post. nobody on here is going to answer that fast.

i just did the intake **** to make the car 100% in stock form, i didn't really expect anything out of it as far as a solution.

check your ECU somtimes it goes into safe mode and it wont engage vtec.
also make sure your oil is good because its the oil pressure that activates vtec.
