no spark, tried dizzy frm running car
so my hatch was killed by a dumb @ss drunk driver , i got a hold of shell w/ a wack attempt at a wire tuck (moved battery and fuse box and made 7 useless holes in wheel wells ect) fr 500.
swapped out front suspension, motor, and tranny
so now that i tried to start it all i heard was the starter, no spark.
used screwdriver to ground on sparkplug wires, no spark
tried using my friends dizzy still no spark
has fuel can hear the fuel pump prime
replaced underhood fuse box w/ my old one since i know that one wrks fr sure
checked grounds also
what would keep the dizzy fr wrking
got dark so dnt have much time to look much further into the problem
any suggestions would give me a head start fr tomorrow when i wrk on her after wrk =/ and be greatly appreciated

Re: no spark, tried dizzy frm running car
Is the CEL ON?
Do you measure battery voltage on the Blk/Yel wire attached to the igniter unit inside of the distributor?

^ (good thread on this same issue (no spark.. its a fun adventure)) ^
Also, you are sure that you routed everything correctly? (wiring?)
https://honda-tech.com/forums/honda-civic-del-sol-1992-2000-1/wont-start-but-all-elements-there-also-air-coolant-2527010/
^(bottom of page shows how to test distributor)
You also want to check and make sure you have power going to your disty, that should be task number one.

Re: no spark, tried dizzy frm running car
thnx, i have power going to the dizzy just no spark to the plugs, im thinking its my ecu
my friends coming by in the a.m. w/ his ecu so hopefully that will at the very least rule out one more possibility
could my ignition be to blame? i mean i have power in the yel/blk wire to the dizzy, & i tried a wrking dizzy and still no luck.
what activates the dizzy or tells it to turn on, i mean as long as the key is in the on position (II) it will have 12Vs going to the dizzy. so what tells the dizzy to send the voltage through to the rotor ect? remember it has to be something out side of the dizzy, we already ruled the dizzy itself out, and im 100% sure i have all necessary grounds
so grounds are good, and i still have no CEL
and all my harnesses are hooked up correctly to the ecu and eng/fusebox/ect
im convinced it's either the ECU and kinda hoping that's all it is
oh yeah and it's def nt the main relay, i used the one the car came w/, my old one frm my old hatch, and on frm my friends running hatch

Re: no spark, tried dizzy frm running car
The dizzy is told when to spark by the ECU. This signal is sent from the ECU along the YEL/GRN wire that attaches to the igniter unit/ICM. So lack of spark could be due to a bad ECU or if the YEL/GRN wire has a short or open. So looking into the latter might also be a good idea.

Re: no spark, tried dizzy frm running car
um, in the first link i gave, it literally goes over every single possibility of what could cause a no start/crank no start/no spark/etc. I suggest you read it thoroughly. Just for a hint, i have two posts near the end which basically describe the whole thread. Have fun.
