No Spark, Running out of Ideas
Setup is a OBD2 B18C1, MSD SCI, Blaster SS coil, thats the stuff you need to know. I was driving and the car all of a sudden died on me. The check engine light came on but I didnt get a chance to check because I turned the car off when it died and it reset. Well first thing I did was take off my cap and rotor to see if the positive ignitor wire had come off(happened to me before and blew the 15amp ignitor coil fuse).
Nope everything checks out fine. So I try to push start it, it starts but instantly dies. I figure its the MSD Blaster SS coil, buy a new one throw it in and still nothing. I then try my friends distributor off his 99 Si, completly by-passing the MSD, still no spark. We try a stock ecu, bypassing the Hondata, still no spark, new plugs, new wires, still nothing. Tried my conversion harness is my friends car and it cranks right up.
I am getting power to the ignitor, I have confirmed that. I have check every fuse, they are all fine. When i try to crank the car for longer than 7 or so seconds the CEL pops up, code 15=ignition output signal. I am confused and don't know where to go from here, please help guys. TIA
Forgot to mention car is 99 Civic DX

Re: No Spark, Running out of Ideas (RotiEatter)
try wiggling the key in the ignition i had a similar problem once what had happen is the my ignition in the car was grounding out of the steering column paneling, try and remove the upper and lower potion of the steering colum plastic trim and starting your car, what happens is the signal to the coil gets interupted and wont let your coil tell the dist time to go. once you pull the paneling off look on your left side and u will see a white platic piece with 4 or 5 soldered wire son it check there that was the culpret in my case good luck bro it took me days to figure this one out.
