No Reverse???
Figures, I'm finally happy with my car and then somethin' happens.
Here's the story.
Well, I was out today on the highway doin my thing with a mustang. (I don't need to hear "racing on the street ") Anyway's, I got off and metmy friend at some shop. When I got back in my car and tried to back-up, it wouldn't go in gear, so I let it roll back all the while trying to force it in, no go.
1-5 works fine no problems at all. I've never had a problem with reverse, never grinding it or anything of the sort.
Is there anyway that I could just lose reverse all of the sudden like that with no warning, or do you think it's the shift linkage?

Did you look at the linkage yet?
PS: to all who are curious, it's a JDM GSR in a 1993 Civic hatch.

Re: No Reverse??? (Archidictus)
Looked at the linkage, the linkage pin was wiggling out but when I got it back in it didn't help solve my problem. I'm gonna get a better look tomorrow. Any other suggestions?

even if you know but don't want to type it out just let me know there is a cure. I can't believe that out of 58k+ users no one knows what's going on.

Re: No Reverse??? (SlippylesKB)
i wish I could help, but I have no clue what would be the problem. My friend is having the same problem with his LS tranny. It won't go into reverse, but if he forces it into reverse, it will work but he has to hold it in and his backup lights wont go on. If you figure out the solution to your problem, let me know and maybe I can help my friend out as well

Hey I will do that. I'm beginning to think that it's the reverse shift fork that's bent.... I'm gonna hopefully pull the tranny soon and check it out. It's gonna be a learning experience.

Re: No Reverse??? (SlippylesKB)
Might sound stupid, but I had some friends with some ugly tranny problems and they solved it with just a couple quarts of 'GM Synchromesh' tranny fluid. There was a thread on that stuff here earlier this week I believe. Might want to give it a shot...
