No problem using old sealed manual transmission fluid?
Figure I'll ask before putting it in my EM1. I have this sealed Honda MT fluid that's been on a shelf in my garage for maybe 7 years, and I wonder if it's still good to use, or if I should buy new new stuff from Honda.

If its sealed you should be ok, long as it was stored in a cool place and as long as moisture didnt get in. The MT fluid interval is 30,000miles/2years so I am sure will be ok, since in 2 years you will need to replace it..

And just to clarify, the 2 year interval is after use, aka contaminated fluid is only good for 2 years sitting. Non contaminated, much longer.
If in doubt, call Honda. They may have a shelf life on sealed fluid but only they would know.

I believe Honda gives it a 5 year shelf life.
Either way, for $25 you could have brand new MTF, so why chance it?
